In Step 3, the ReBuild NC Strategic Buyout Program will work to make sure your submitted documentation supports current ownership. These documents will be reviewed, and the program will order a title report on the property to verify:

  • Identification of all owners, AND 
  • Other legal and financial details, such as mortgages or other liens, of the property.

If review of the submitted documentation or property title report identifies any ownership issues (e.g. deceased owners or deed restrictions), they must be resolved prior to moving to Step 4. 

During Step 3, if the title report identifies property owners that are not the applicant or co-applicant, the program will reach out to those non-applicant owners to let them know the property is progressing through the program.
