After closing, the property is owned by the local government. The Strategic Buyout Program will then use a pre-qualified contractor to tear down the property according to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations and requirements.  

At this point, applicants and other owners no longer play an active role in the program, however, their case manager will continue to reach out occasionally to answer any questions about the program or incentives.
