The NC HOPE application period closed Dec. 17, 2021. Twelve counties are managing local pandemic-related rent and utility assistance programs. Renters in those counties should contact their local program for more information. 

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Coharie Tribe, Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe, Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and Waccamaw-Siouan Tribe are also offering rent and assistance programs for tribal members financially impacted by the pandemic. If you a registered member of one of these tribes, you should contact your tribal government for more information.

The HOPE application period closing does not impact federally funded local or tribal rent and utility assistance programs. Please check your local program's website to confirm whether their application period is currently open.
