FEMA Assistance

$0Mfederal/state grants to help families repair homes & replace some belongings

Following major disasters, local, state and federal governments work with faith-based and volunteer organizations to help individuals and families recover. Various types of aid may be provided including: funding assistance, temporary housing, rental assistance, home repairs, counseling and document replacement.

After Hurricane Matthew, nearly 82,000 households applied for help through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. NC Emergency Management and FEMA worked with local communities to find temporary housing for people while they repaired or rebuilt their damaged homes. Volunteer groups provided labor to help numerous homeowners with needed repairs.
