Disaster Recovery Centers in Six Counties to Close Permanently, Help Remains Available

As the Dec. 13 deadline to register for assistance approaches, disaster recovery centers in six counties will close their doors soon. The centers are currently open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. All are closed Sunday.

Time is running out for survivors of Hurricane Florence to apply for federal disaster assistance. The deadline to apply for assistance from FEMA or for a low-interest loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration is 11:59 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018.

State/FEMA disaster recovery centers will change their hours of operation beginning Monday, Dec. 3, 2018. The centers will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturdays. All centers are closed on Sundays.

Columbus County Disaster Recovery Center Relocates, Will Close Permanently Dec. 5

North Carolina continues to make progress recovering from Hurricane Florence, with more than $895 million in state and federal resources already approved, Governor Roy Cooper said Wednesday. He urged anyone who sustained damaged from the storm to apply for help if they haven’t already.
